The success of the remake of ‘It’ was incontestable. With more than 700 million dollars grossed worldwide, ‘It’ became the highest grossing horror film of all time . In ‘It: Chapter 2’, The Losers were almost 30 years older (27 specifically) and faced Pennywise the clown again. Will the saga continue?
Everything indicates that if: ‘It 3’ is getting closer to being a reality.
Although the sequel to ‘It’ has not achieved as good results as the first installment, the spirits of the participants in the film do not wane. ‘It 3’ begins to take shape , at least that’s what seems to go through the mind of its director, Andy Muschietti,
Actor and director are for the work of a Pennywise prequel for ‘It 3’
Skarsgard and Muschietti, who have been in charge of directing and playing the clown in the two films that, at the moment, make up the ‘It’ film saga, based on the work of American writer Stephen King, have dropped in two interviews that they would be delighted to close the saga by turning it into a trilogy of ‘It’ .
Yes indeed. Both agree that it is a mythical work (both on paper and on celluloid) and that it must be respected. But they don’t stop there when it comes to talking about the Pennywise clown story that Stephen King created.
“It should be a proper scan,” Skarsgard told Entertainment Weekly in an interview. But what has raised all the rumors is what he added next: “The book ends where the second movie ends, so it’s the final chapter of the story. There is this interesting aspect of going back in time, to before If all of this happened . There could be a story in there that might be worth exploring. Obviously, it would be a story that isn’t in the books. It would be a stand-alone story, but obviously within the same universe. So, there could be something interesting lost there. I think it would be fun.”
That the supposed movie of ‘It 3’ is developed out of the ideas that came from the head of Stephen KingIt can be a controversial point for the followers of the North American writer. However, both Skarsgard and Muschetti seem to respect King’s work to the fullest, even saying that ‘It’ is a work with mythology behind it.
The director’s words were revealing about the way he thinks about ‘It’: “There’s a whole mythology in the book… Mythology is something that always has opportunities to be explored . Pennywise has been on Earth for million years. It’s been in contact with humans for hundreds of years, every 27 years. So you can imagine the amount of material. It’s always exciting to think about eventually exploring this mythology. It’s very exciting. nothing on the table.
That there is a prequel to ‘It’ called ‘It 3’ is not up to them alone, but it is clear that they both believe that there is much to scratch about a character like Pennywise .
Most likely, ‘It 3’ will have to wait
‘It 3’ could be a sequel to Pennywise | New Line Cinema
If the rumors about ‘It 3’ are confirmed, it is most likely that we will have to wait some time (certainly more time than the time that elapsed between the first and the second installment of the
‘It’ trilogy) since Andy Muschetti is immersed in the development of another project that promises to give a lot to talk about ‘The Flash’ .
After many unsuccessful attempts, it seems that Muschetti will be the one to carry out a movie about the DC superhero, who will presumably be played by Ezra Miller .
Even so, ‘It: Chapter 2’ has only recently hit the billboards and still has a long way to go , and many fans can still enjoy the story of Pennywise the clown and his relationship with The Losers. ‘It 3’, for now, can wait.
