2000s telefilm: the most beautiful of the first years of the third millennium in the new post dedicated to TV
The world of the 2000s TV series is made up of series that have kept millions of viewers glued. At the dawn of the third millennium, some of these have become a cult, and even after many years we sometimes see them again with pleasure.
Dawson’s Creek
Dawson’s Creek is a teenage TV series, which aired in the late 1990s and early 2000s. This tells of the lives of some boys from the small American town of Capeside, who live their adolescence between first loves, adolescent problems and each of them, despite everything, finds in the other the strength to go forward on their own path of growth.
The series focuses on the stories of the following characters:
- Dawson , a young film buff and aspiring director;
- Peace , who embodies the rebellious boy;
- Joey , motherless and with her father in jail, representing the disputed love between Dawson and Peace;

The series aired in the United States from 1998 to 2003, for a total of six seasons and 128 episodes.
The O.C.
Another cult teen TV series from the early 2000s is The OC, created by Josh Schwartz and aired between 2003 and 2007. This tells the stories of the protagonists of a rich California city, Newport Beach, and its protagonist, Ryan Atwood , who as a street boy finds himself adopted by a rich family of the American upper middle class (Sandy and Kirsten Cohen). Here he meets his stepbrother Seth, a boy who is passionate about comics and has always been in love with Summer, the beautiful girl next door, very different from him, and Marissa, with whom Ryan himself falls in love.
The series consists of 4 seasons for a total of 92 episodes. Beautiful soundtrack by Phantom Planet entitled “California”.
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl is a more recent US television series, broadcast on The CW network from 2007 to 2012 and based on the novels of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar.
The TV series tells about the lives of some boys of the American nobility in the high-rise neighborhood of the Upper East Side of New York. These live in close contact, attending the same college and do not skimp on low blows, spite and betrayals.
The beginning of each episode was marked by this intro:
“I’m Gossip Girl, your only source of news on the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite.”

Gossip Girl has become over the years one of the most viewed 2000s TV series and has even obtained positive implications on New York city tourism, so much so that the then mayor of the city, Michael Bloomberg, had expressed himself as follows on the series:

In addition to keeping fans on their toes with twists, the show also attracts many to visit New York, helping to reach a staggering 50.5 million visitors a year. Indeed, the economic impact of Gossip Girl and other New York-set series and films is distinctly felt across all five boroughs. Veronica Mars
Another TV series from the 2000s with a sensational success is Veronica Mars, aired from 2004 to 2007 which sees the story of the homonymous protagonist, played by the actress (also famous for another recent TV series entitled “The Good Place” ) Kristen Bell , as the daughter of a private investigator and former sheriff of the city of Neptune, ready to carry on the family business after school.
After the cancellation of the series in 2007 due to lack of funds, a few years later, thanks to crowdfunding, it was possible to produce a fourth season consisting of 8 episodes, which aired in Italy on Premium Crime last year.
Sex and the City
Sex and the City is an American TV series that aired between 1998 and 2004, which tells the story of four friends over 30 and their love (and sexual) lives against the backdrop of the city of New York, and more specifically of the Manhattan island.
The show has become famous above all for the scenes set in many chic bars, trendy restaurants or exclusive clubs, for the importance given to appearing glamorous and for having openly shown sex scenes in a show.

How Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother , also known by the acronym HIMYM or, in Italy, as E in the end arrives mom , is an American sitcom created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, broadcast on the American network CBS from 2005 to 2014, for a total of 208 episodes spread over nine seasons.
The series chronicles the social and sentimental lives of its protagonists Ted, Robin, Barney, Marshall and Lily in the city of New York. Specifically, Ted, an aspiring architect, falls madly in love with the journalist Robin and does everything to win her over. Ready to support him, he will find his old friends, Lily and Marshall, a historical couple who live their relationship in a symbiotic way, and Barney Stinson, a local playboy who manages to conquer every woman with always original and creative ideas. The story, however, takes place in 2030 , when Ted Mosby begins to tell his children how he met their future mother, in a story back in time.
Dott. House
Dr. House – Medical Division ( House, MD ) is an American television series created by David Shore and Paul Attanasio, broadcast by Fox from 2004 to 2012. It is perhaps the most viewed early 2000s TV series ever, which tells of the story of Dr. Gregory House, an unconventional doctor, who in order to save his patients (each of whom has very rare diseases) is ready to challenge medical protocols, investigating the origin of the disease almost as if he were an investigator .
The series is important because it emphasized the problem of ethics in the field of medicine.
The protagonist of the series is the actor Hugh Laurie, who in the series is afflicted by an excruciating leg problem, which forces him to use the cane and take painkillers, which then become an addiction.
Among the protagonists of the series it is also possible to mention the actor Robert Sean Leonard, in the role of Dr. Wilson, famous for playing the film “The Fleeting Moment”.
