The premiere series of Netflix Spain for December 2018
Next we are going to review the most outstanding premieres of Netflix in December 2018. These are international productions of varied themes and that intend to leave us glued to the armchair enjoying their intrigues, stories and adventures. Among the most anticipated titles we find ‘Roma’, by Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron, the new adaptation of ‘El perfume’ and ‘The 3 Below: Tales of Arcadia’, the second installment of Guillermo del Toro’s trilogy begun by ‘Trollhunters ‘.
1. ‘Hakan, the protector’
It is the first Turkish series to premiere on Netflix and comes from the hand of Binnur Karaevli, who will tell us the story of a young merchant and how his life turns upside down when he discovers that he is connected to an order ancient and secret in charge of protecting Istanbul.
His objective will be to catch a mysterious group known by the name of Los Inmortales, but he is not very well prepared for this mission. A city, a hero, an immortal enemy and many loyal people are the main ingredients of this series.
We will have to wait until December 14 to enjoy Hakan and everything around him.
2. ‘The land of the tides’
Another example of Netflix’s predilection for international series during this month of December, we find it in this premiere. This time it is an Australian series of eight episodes of supernatural cut . It takes place in a small community known as “Tidelanders”, made up of half-human, half-mermaid beings.
The protagonists of this Australian fiction shot in Queensland are Elsa Pataky , Marco Pigossi, Charlotte Best, Aaron Jakubenko and Mattias Inwood.
Its release date is December 14.
3. ‘Diablero’
This time it’s time to travel to Mexico to watch this adaptation of the book ‘The Devil Made Me’, by FG Haghenbeck. The action takes place in Mexico City, where the diableros are the ones in charge of keeping the demons at bay, although in particular we will follow Elvis Infante, who forms a curious alliance with a priest and a modern heroine expert in paranormal subjects to find a young woman kidnapped in the underworld of the Mexican capital.
A chilling series that we can see on December 21 on Netflix.
4. ‘El perfume’
New adaptation of the popular novel by Patrick Suskind that brings the story of the unique Jean-Baptiste Grenouille to the present day and changes the location for a German town.There a detective will have to investigate a strange succession of murders. August Diehl, Friederike Becht, Wotan Wilke Mohring, Ken Duken, Trystan Putter, Marc Hosemann and Juergen Maurer lead the cast of actors.
The new German series will revolve around a group of six friends who strike up a curious friendship during their stay at a boarding school. Its nexus of union is the intense attraction that everyone feels towards aromas. However, everything will change when, years later, a police investigation begins when the body of one of the members of the group is found.
We will have to wait to “smell” this series until December 21
5. ‘Watership Hill’
Animated series co-produced by BBC and Netflix that adapts the homonymous novel by Richard Adams. In its original version we will hear the voices of actors such as James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, John Boyega, Ben Kingsley or Gemma Arterton. This mini series consists of four episodes and tells how a group of rabbits faces many threats as they embark on a dangerous journey in search of a new home.

There is still no specific date for the premiere but it will be in December, probably the 23rd.

Netflix Spain premiere movies for December 2018
1. ‘Dumplin”
A musical comedy where we can see Jennifer Aniston in its cast . However, the real protagonist is the character of her daughter (Danielle Macdonald), who signs up for her mother’s beauty pageant as a protest.
The story centers on a confident teenager, nicknamed Dumplin by her mother , a former beauty queen (Aniston), who starts working at a fast food joint. There she will meet an athlete with whom she seems to have a feeling, but when she begins to doubt herself, she sets out to regain her confidence by entering a beauty contest to earn her mother’s respect.
It will premiere on December 7.
2. ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’
The blockbuster directed by Andy Serkis was delayed until it finally ended up on Netflix. Visually it promises to be a great show and also with a darker and more adult tone than the recent Disney version.
The plot is known to all. An orphaned boy, raised by animals in the jungle, has to decide his fate as he faces a dangerous enemy and his own human origins. It stars: Rohan Chand, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett.
Although we are left with the doubt that if it has not been released in the cinema, it will be for a reason….
We will be able to see Mowgly and his friends in action from December 7th.
3. ‘Roma’
The acclaimed new film by Alfonso Cuaronsounds very strong in the face of the next Oscars. The director paints a fresh and emotional portrait, inspired by his own childhood, of domestic life and social hierarchy with the political storm in Mexico in the 1970s in the background.
Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Marco Graf, Daniela Demesa, Latin Lover, Enoc Leano and Clementina Guadarrama are some of his actors.
This story about the family and love of the Mexican director was the best film at the Venice Film Festival.
Its premiere will be on December 14.
4. ‘Blind’
Sandra Bullock stars in this thriller by Oscar winner Susanne Bier. It tells the story of a mysterious threat that has drastically reduced the world’s population. No one knows exactly what he’s up against, but he does take your life if you happen to see him.
Five years after an invisible presence leads almost all of society to suicide, a survivor and her two children desperately seek a way to save themselves.
Starring: Sandra Bullock, Trevante Rhodes, John Malkovich Joining Bullock are Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich, Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Trevante Rhodes, Tom Hollander and BD Wong.
The scheduled premiere for this film is December 21.
5. ‘The Bottom 3: Tales of Arcadia’
We finish our selection with a movie for the whole family. Surely the little ones in the house will be delighted to enjoy this animated and adventure movie.
Second installment of Guillermo del Toro’s Arcadia trilogy -the first was ‘Trollhunters’- which tells how two aliens and their bodyguard escape from their home planet and end up on Earth, in the city of Arcadia. There they will try to adapt to the way of life of our planet while they try to fix their ship to return to their home, currently dominated by an evil dictator.
All lovers of this genre should sign up December 21 as its release date.
