When you have a family with children, there are many expenses that must be faced . For this reason, several aids for families have been introduced in force since this year.
In fact, in the 2020 budget law that was approved there are new economic aid for families , which has already been in force since 1 January. The government has decided to refinance and expand the baby bonus and other benefits for families with children . The goal is to counter the constant demographic decline of our country.
Since 2008, births have progressively decreased. Already in 2015 they had fallen below half a million and in 2018 there was a new negative record: only 439,747 children were born. Faced with such a drastic decrease, the policy has decided to combat denatality by encouraging families with economic aid .
Let’s see together how to save on family expenses in 10 points:
1. Bonus for mothers and families
In order to help an ever wider audience of families, the main novelties of the bonuses planned for 2020 will concern the extension of income limits. In the case of the Baby Bonus , the maximum income ceiling has been completely canceled. All mothers and families residing on Italian territory in possession of citizenship or a regular residence permit will be able to take advantage of these subsidies.
2. Presentation of documents
Although the updated forms are not yet available on the INPS website, the directives are clear in the Budget Law. Starting from January 1, 2020, the amounts will be adjusted as decided by the yellow-red government. The document submission process does not change. The practices can be carried out independently on the INPS portal, at the INPS offices or through the CAF.
3. Bonus mom tomorrow 2020
The Mother Tomorrow Bonus or birth bonus is one of the measures, among those already existing, confirmed and refinanced also for 2020. It is an economic subsidy of 800 euros paid in a single payment for each child who is born, adopted or entrusted. It can be requested by mothers starting from the completion of the seventh month of pregnancy and by all those who give birth, even if before the eighth month . The award is also paid in the case of adoption or fostering of a minor , both nationally and internationally.
4. Bonus for infant formula
This is new for 2020 . A bonus corresponding to 400 euros per newborn is introduced , intended for the purchase of artificial milk for mothers who cannot breastfeed. The subsidy can be requested from birth up to the sixth month of the baby’s life. Again there should be no limits imposed by income.
5. Baby bonus
One of the biggest news concerns the Baby Bonus . Starting from 1 January, the subsidy will be paid to all families by canceling the previous ISEE limit of 25 thousand euros per year. 3 income brackets have been calculated and in all cases the increase of 20% is confirmed in the case of a child following the first.
6. Bonus income bands for babies
Families with an ISEE between 0 and 7 thousand euros will receive 1920 euros per year equal to 160 euros per month which increases to 2304 euros in the case of a subsequent child. For families with income from 7,000 to 40,000 euros, the bonus will be 1440 euros per year equal to 120 euros per month or 1728 euros if you are entitled to the increase. Without income limits, families earning over 40 thousand euros will receive 960 euros per year for the first child or 1152 euros in the case of a subsequent child.
7. Bonus nido
In 2020, the nest bonus doubles. The subsidy goes from 1500 to 3000 euros for families with ISEE under 25 thousand euros and from 1500 to 2500 for families between 25 and 40 thousand euros. A significant action that could greatly facilitate working mothers. But not only. Attendance at the nursery is important for the growth of the child. Between 18 and 36 months, the little ones learn mainly by imitation and discover reality through the senses. Being in contact with your peers in a protected and child-friendly space favors their cognitive and social development . This measure aims to increase the number of members of the nursery to try to reach the European averages.
8. Family allowance
The family unit allowance ( ANF ) is an economic benefit provided by INPS to the families of certain categories of employees. It is an economic support calculated on the basis of the number of members of the family unit and its total income. You are entitled to the check from the first day of your pay period and you can submit an application for each year you are eligible for. Starting from 1 April 2019, the application can only be sent electronically , using SPID credentials or at CAFs.
9. Other income support
Furthermore, let us not forget that there are other forms of income support that can make life easier for families, especially with children. These include the purchase card and the famous citizenship income. Requesting or possessing these cards does not exclude access to the bonuses listed above. From next March it will be possible to start the procedures for obtaining the new citizenship income. It remains to be seen whether the amounts will undergo large variations or not. For those who intend to apply, it is good to collect all the necessary documents, in particular the updated ISEE.
10. Resolutions for next year
The single allowance for families has been postponed to 2021 . This measure (an idea for the moment) aims to guarantee a subsidy of 240 euros per month for each dependent minor child and 80 euros per month for each dependent child aged between 18 and 26 years. An allowance of this kind, of a universal nature, would necessarily lead to the revision and remodeling of all the reliefs envisaged for dependent children now in force and precisely for this reason it was preferred to postpone the discussion.
