The universe of ‘The Warren File’ adds a new contribution with the premiere of ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, the third part of the spin-off about the diabolical doll with which the marriage of demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren was made. In this last movie, in fact, there is a detail that breaks the coherence in the timeline of the story . Do you already know what

put ourselves in a situation. In 2013, director and producer James Wan shook up the horror genre with a breathtaking film based on the real characters of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a couple of parapsychologists who became famous back in the seventies exorcising spirits.The Warren File became a phenomenon .
Then would come ‘The Warren File 2: The Enfield Affair’ (2016) , based on the true events of one of the most famous poltergeist cases. Before, however, ‘Annabelle’ had been released with relative success, a spin-off about a diabolical doll that appeared at the beginning of ‘The Warren File’, and although the level dropped slightly, a second film was made in 2017.
That’s how it was taking shape what is already known as the Warrenverse , a rich space for movies, sequels and spin-offs where they parade, in continuous flashbacks and flashforwards , all kinds of spirits, dolls and objects that include famous failures such as the fifth movie of the saga, ‘The nun’ (2018).
While fans of the franchise eagerly await ‘The Warren File 3’, scheduled for 2020, the premiere of ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ , directed by Gary Dauberman , has generated a new expectation but, with so much time jump, it was to be expected that sooner or later holes would be seen in the script. The new movie narrates the Warrens’ attempts to neutralize the spirit of the doll and its awakening with the intention of besieging the couple’s daughter (here you can see the trailer) .
In the first film, ‘The Warren File’, it is made clear that the couple locked the doll in her room of artifacts in 1968, and this is how ‘Annabelle returns home’ begins, which then takes a time jump of a year to set the action in 1969. In the room we see many objects that are part of the universe, and there is one in particular that breaks the coherence temporary: the music box .
This music box appears among the objects found in the Warrens’ artifact room in the recently released film, whose action (in the first sequence) takes place in 1968. However, Lorraine had taken the object during the events. in ‘The Warren Files’, whose action takes place in 1971.

Therefore, the object that appears in the Warren room in ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, in 1968, does not reach Lorraine’s hands until 1971. A period of three years that surely has not gone unnoticed by the most fans of the saga.
It is also true that it is a minor detail that does not alter the essential lines of the story , but forms one of those script holes that irritate fans so much. An error, moreover, frequent in this type of product that exploits the same storyline over and over again: sooner or later holes always end up appearing in the universe.
Meanwhile, the Warrenverse continues to expand and, while we enjoy ‘Annabelle Comes Home’, which has as its hookthe return of actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in the role of Lorraine and Ed Warren, we continue to learn new details of ‘The Warren File 3’, in which the Warrens will deal with the case of an alleged murderer who claims to have been possessed by a lycanthrope .
This is also a real case, that of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who claimed to suffer trances in which he saw a specter in the form of an animal that led him to murder his landlord.
In the first two films, Sterling Jerins played the Warren’s daughter Judy, but in this third film she has been replaced by the actress McKenna Grace . It has already been confirmed that Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will be in ‘The Warren File 3’, but it is unknown which actress will play Judy.
