Beverly Hills 90210

Another beautiful TV series from the 90s  is Baywatch , which tells the story of a group of lifeguards from the town of Baywatch, Los Angeles County.

One of the main protagonists of the series produced by Greg Bonann and David Hasseloff (the same protagonist of Supercar, another great American TV series, this time from the 80s) who plays Mitch, the head of the lifeguard team who is in charge of protecting bathers from the dangers of the sea. Another mythical protagonist of Baywatch, and sex symbol in those years, is Pamela Anderson , who played the sexy lifeguard Casey.

This show, which ended in 2003 with the final episode set in Hawaii, even appeared in the Guinness Book of Records as a TV series with the highest number of viewers in the world: 1.1 billion in 142 countries and translated into 44 different languages!


One of the American TV series of the 90s that has obtained the most plays was Friends , which we have already told you about previously in our appointment with the most famous series of all time .

Aired from 1994 until the early 2000s, this sitcom produced by NBC tells, with humor and a touch of irony, the story of a group of friends from New York grappling with their lives together, capturing the social changes that have taken place in that historical period.

The protagonists of the Friends series are:

This series deals with the story of a group of young Californians who face their life in the American city. One of the protagonists is Dr. Michael Mancini , played by Thomas Calabro , doctor of Wilshire Memorial Hospital.

Curiosity linked to Melrose Place: to launch the series, one of the first TV crossovers was created , specifically with Beverly Hills 90210, through the love story between Kelly Taylor and Jake Hanson, a worker with whom the girl falls in love. Along with Jennie Garth, other Beverly Hills protagonists appear in the first three episodes of Melrose Place: David Silver and Steve Sanders.

Willy, the Prince of Bel Air

Among the famous 90s TV series we have Willy, the prince of Bel Air who delivers Will Smith to the public as a great protagonist, who later turns out to be an excellent actor, singer and TV showman.

The show, produced by NBC and aired from 1990 to 1996 for 148 episodes, tells the story of a poor boy from Philadelphia who moves from his wealthy uncles to Bel Air, one of the most popular neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

The theme song for the Yo Home to Bel-Air series, was written and interpreted by Will Smith himself.

Let’s go back to talking about magical powers with Sabrina, the life of a witch , which marks the debut of the young actress Melissa Joan Hart , who plays a girl with paranormal powers, Sabrina Spelmann , who lives with her witch aunts Hilda and Zelda and with a black cat. speaking named Salem, originally a sorcerer turned into a feline for punishment.

The series, which aired from 1996 to 2003, was produced by ABC in the first few seasons and by The WB for the last.

Produced by ABC and aired from 1989 to 1997, this American sitcom tells the story of an African American family in Chicago, whose main protagonists are Carl Winslow , a police officer, and his family: his wife Harriet, children. Edward, Laura and Judith, mother Estelle, sister-in-law Rachel and grandson Richard. In reality, perhaps the most famous character in the series is Steve Urkel , a bungling genius in unrequited love for Laura.

Between hilarious gags and disasters, this show is one of the most appreciated by American critics.

Pappa and Ciccia

Pappa e Ciccia , translation of the original title Roseanne , is an American sitcom that aired between the 80s and 90s, and tells the story of a middle-class American family, the Conners .

These live in the suburbs of Chicago and among the protagonists of the series we recognize the actor John Goodman in the role of Dan, who together with his wife Roseanne and children Becky, DJ and Darlene (to which Jerry Garcia will be added) give life to one of the funniest sitcom ever, original and never banal.

Streghe – Charmed

Another famous TV series from the 90s is Streghe , an Italian title for  Charmed , an American TV series broadcast between the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s. It is a fantasy TV series that tells the story of the Halliwell sisters: Prue, Piper, Phoebe, who after the death of their grandmother, discover that they are the chosen witches to fight against evil.

This TV series has intrigued and kept millions of viewers in suspense around the world, broadcast in 55 countries and positioned as the fifth most viewed American TV series in Italy between 1991 and 2011.
